The place

The FlourWorld Museum in Wittenburg Germany was founded by Volkmar Wywiol, as a homage to all millers in the world. It houses the largest flour sacks collection in the world, along with the only replica of the famous Iceman "Ötzi" Figure.

“Blocks made it possible to technically expand an existing museum, integrate an audio guide and prepare for the future.”

The brief

We needed to implement a system that were user-friendly and fully automated, that could show videos, control Watchout players and provide an audio guide for the entire museum.

The project

The museum has been extended by a room showing an original grain mummy from Egypt. The room can be converted into a seminar room. Pixilab Blocks is used to show videos, control Watchout players and provide an audio guide, giving the possibility to watch videos with synchronized sound via the audio guide. There are some audioguide devices available for loan but the visitors has the possibility to use the audio guide in their own mobile phones. This lets the visitors take part of interesting information in two different languages.
