Google [[https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2017/09/autoplay-policy-changes|changed the default behavior]] of Chrome in April 2018. 

The following instruction only apply to Chrome v66 to Chrome v75.
To restore automatic (unattended) video playback, change the //autoplay policy// flag to "No user gesture is required", as shown below.
